Build Your Own Basin: Palo Verde Neighborhood Leaders

  • 3676 East Fairmount Street Tucson, AZ, 85716 United States (map)

Join us for the next neighborhood leaders training where you will learn how to create a rain basin, plant native vegetation and steward it to establishment so that it can thrive on rainfall only. At the end of the training you will receive a free BYOB kit (one native shade tree, one native shrub, native grasses, a packet of wildflower seeds and a bag of woodchip mulch.) Become a neighborhood leader today!

Share the work of building rainwater harvesting, food producing and shade creating rain gardens with your neighbors and teach others too!

Come build a basin with us on Saturday 10/14/2023 from 9-11 AM where you will learn how to create a rain basin, plant native vegetation and steward it to establishment so that it can thrive on rainfall only.

At the end of the training you will receive a free BYOB kit (one native shade tree, one native shrub, native grasses, a packet of wildflower seeds and a bag of woodchip mulch.)

As a participant of this program our expectation is that you will then host a workshop for your neighbors to continue the expansion of this knowledge and help distribute more BYOB kits.

Become a neighborhood leader today!

Please remember to wear comfortable outdoor work clothes, sun protection and to bring a refillable water container. Some light snacks will be provided. After we build the basin we will give out BYOB plant kits for you to take home and use in your own yard (1 tree, 1 shrub, grasses, 1 packet of wildflower seeds and a bag of mulch).

After attending this workshop we ask that you help us host another neighborhood leader workshop in your own home so that we can continue to build the "train-the trainer" model. Dates will be scheduled according to your's and WMG's availability.
