Meeting Purpose:
Project Manager Collin Chesston invites Palo Verde Neighborhood to hear updates and share feedback on a new bike boulevard:
“City staff and our consultant, Toole Design Group, are working to wrap up our analysis in the next few weeks. Toole has compiled data for several alternative routes, including vehicle volumes, vehicle speeds, crash history, route length, and implementation challenges. City staff have developed design concepts for each alternative route, and Toole is currently working to develop cost estimates for each concept.
The City of Tucson Department of Transportation & Mobility will host a public meeting at Reid Park on Saturday March 23rd from 10am-noon to share the results and a draft staff recommendation (to either maintain the voter-approved route or shift the alignment to a different route) for the public to review. The draft staff recommendation at this stage will be just that - a draft. We are still seeking input and feedback from the public and will not make a final recommendation to the Proposition 407 Bond Oversight Commission until after the public meeting and follow-up meetings with each impacted neighborhood. The key questions we'll ask the public at these meetings are 1) Does the draft staff recommendation make sense? and 2) Why or why not, in your opinion?”
